I used materials that are normally used for model trains, and I purchased some at a local hobby store, and some online. I thought I was going to build it for less than the price of the Settlers 3-D chest, but I probably spent twice as much (and had a great time building it). If you do a web search for Catan 3-D, you’ll find several 3-D boards other fans have made.
